FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If you are not finding the answer to your question within our FAQ page feel free to use the form on the right to contact us with any questions you may have about Cross Belt Sorters.
HOW DO CROSS BELT SORTERS WORK?
Our Cross Belt Sorter is an automated system made up of a monorail track with individual smart cars that move along the track on precision rollers. Each car has a short belt that is aligned perpendicular to the monorail. When each car is at a specific location the belt is driven and controlled by an internal DC motor and digital controller. Communication is achieved wirelessly with each car in order to induct packages and tell the car where to deliver each one according to a predetermined sort plan in the users WMS. These densely spaced cars provide the maximum throughput per square foot of space used with extreme accuracy.
WHAT SHAPE SORTER CAN YOU PROVIDE?
Our system uses a patented monorail that is available in straight and curved sections. Easily installed, these rails provide a huge range of flexibility in system design within existing or new facilities.
WILL I SEE PRODUCTIVITY INCREASES WITH A CROSS BELT SORTER?
Yes. There are direct labor reductions associated with the implementation of our sorter. The amount of human “touches” are significantly reduced while throughput and accuracy is greatly increased.
TELL ME ABOUT THROUGHPUT...
Throughput is the total amount of items that may be sorted in an amount of time. Our sorter can provide throughputs in excess of 11,000 units per hour depending on the desired line speed and car width. Each system is flexible in that we can vary the line speed and car size to fit your particular sorting requirement.
WHERE DO YOU MANUFACTURE YOUR SYSTEMS?
CrossBeltSorter’s R&D, engineering and manufacturing is all located within our facility based in New Braunfels, Texas.
CAN I INTEGRATE YOUR SYSTEM INTO MY EXISTING WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND LOGISTICAL STRATEGY EASILY?
Yes. Our system has been designed with inherent flexibility to be a turn key stand alone product or one that very easily integrates with complex material handling software/strategies as used in very large organizations.
WHERE CAN I SEE YOUR PRODUCTS?
We maintain a fully working system on site at our facility in the Texas hill country and frequently welcome visitors to evaluate our system!
